Lake Oroville Visitor's Center, run by the California Depts. of Park & Recreation and Water Resources, holds a wealth of information about the lake and the entire Oroville area. As well as having brochures of area attractions and maps of
campgrounds, hiking and horse trails, the center has more than
thirty films covering subjects from the history of the gold rush
era to the construction of the dam. Maps of the new 35-mile bicycle
trail are also available, and outside a 47-foot high viewing
tower affords spectacular views of the lake, mountains, and the
Sacramento Valley. |
